Try this Betting System for Thoroughbred Race Horses that Really Makes Money

Finding profitable betting opportunities playing the ponies is not as hard as people may say. If you would like a winning horse racing system that is easy to use, why don’t you try this great little system? It has three rules yet it is so simple that anyone can become an excellent handicapper with it.

I’m going to list the rules, and then I will explain why the method works and review its strong points and weaknesses.

The 3 Rules
1. The race must be a claiming race but it can’t be a maiden claiming race. You can see if the race is a claiming race by looking in the race description in the track program or in the past performances.

2. Next you calculate each horse’s LEPS, lifetime earnings per start. You do this by dividing each horse’s lifetime earnings by its lifetime starts. You can find the horse’s lifetime earnings and starts in the upper right corner of its listing in the past performances.

3. Bet the horse to win that has the highest lifetime earnings per start (LEPS) if it goes to post at 8-to-1 or higher odds.

The Reasons Why this System Works
Because all horses are not the same and they have different levels of ability. That is why there are different levels of class in horse racing. As long as a race horse is in good form, he will be an easy winner if he is dropped to a much lower class.

A horse that fits in the profile of this method will almost certainly have won races at much higher class levels in the past. These horses as a rule can’t be competitive at their old class because they have suffered injuries. So they are used by the racing insiders as “betting tools.†The trainers keep these horses in the stable because it is very easy to darken their form. The trainer knows that if the horse can return to its former form even for only one more race, it will easily defeat the cheaper horses in the race he is running in today. So because of trainer manipulation, these horses do win and often win suddenly without showing any signs of improvement. Also because of this manipulation by the trainer, these horses will pay very high odds when they win.

Strong Points and Weak Points Using this System
This angle can be a big money maker over an extended period of time and will usually return a profit of over 25% per each dollar you bet. The biggest fault of the method is the percentage of wins which will run from ten to fourteen percent. This means that if you start using this method you should expect to see long losing streaks.

The number or size of losing streaks for any handicapping method is governed by the system’s win percentage. If as an example, let’s say your percentage of wins was about 14%, which is winning about one out of every seven bets. The expected largest string of consecutive losers for 1000 bets would be 34 losing wagers in a row. So if we make the assumption of 14% winners, we should also expect see 27 losing streaks of 10 or more losing bets in a row for each 1000 wagers. This would mean that you would be losing 10 or more consecutive losers about 37% of the time while using this system.

The winning percentage is one of the most important factors to consider when evaluating any handicapping system.
